| The second session is devoted to reviews of brief
grants that participants write after the first session. The discussion
is designed to clarify basic grant writing principals in action
and to expose participants to the many different styles and perspectives
of other students.
Introduction
to Program Outcomes & Measurement
5 hours
over 2 sessions
This course is general in nature and would be of value to anyone
who are responsibility for developing, measuring, or reporting on
program outcomes. During the first session, participants gain a
basic understanding of how to set program outcomes and realistically
measure them. Outcomes are examined through such questions as ?How
are clients different because we touched their lives? and ?How do
we know if our program succeeded?? Emphasis throughout is placed
on the practical rather than the theoretical aspects of evaluation.
An overview is also be provided of basic terminology in the outcomes
measurement model developed by United Way of America.
In the second session, participants share a brief (one page) outcomes
plan that they have written, hear questions and feedback from the
instructor and peers, and have the opportunity to offer suggestions
on plans written by others. |
